Rev. David Nasser

Senior Vice President for Spiritual Development, Liberty University

David Nasser was born in Iran but left the country with his family at age 9 during the Iranian Revolution. After almost a year in exile, his family moved to America. At age 18, he rejected his Muslim heritage and became a Christian. As one of the nation’s forefront speakers, David speaks to over 700,000 people each year using his God-given ability to reach the high tech, attention-lacking culture of Generation Next. The heart-cry of David’s ministry is to effectively present the same message, the Gospel of Christ, using fresh, post-modern methods.

Before coming to Liberty, he founded D. Nasser Outreach and Christ City Church near Birmingham, Ala., where he served as lead pastor.

In 2014, God introduced a new chapter into David’s life - overseeing Liberty University’s Office of Spiritual Development, including Convocation, North America’s largest weekly gathering of young people, LU Send, LU Serve, LU Shepherd, LU Stages, the Worship Collective and the Office of Online Engagement. He oversees a team that advances Liberty’s mission by strengthening the theological foundation of the student body and its leaders through gatherings such as Convocation and Campus Community. He steers the discipleship process of seeing students come to Christ and grow in their faith and will mobilize students and faculty to reach the world for Christ through the global studies degree program, humanitarian efforts, church planting, and cohesive ministry partnerships.

Come to New England! Return with New Vision!

In describing the early Pilgrim history of New England, 17th century minister and historian John Higginson, wrote, “The Lord stirred up the spirits of so many thousands of His servants… to transport themselves… into a desert land in America - in the way of seeking first the kingdom of God - for the purpose of a fuller and better reformation of the Church of God.”

Almost 400 years after the Pilgrims first arrived in New England with the explicit purpose of reforming the Church and advancing the kingdom of God, we invite you to join us for PCNAK 2018 with the same purpose! The circumstances of the Pilgrims’ lives and their “immigration” to a land of promise has some parallels for the 21st century Indian diaspora in the US & Canada. Professor Tracy McKenzie, Wheaton College, writes, “The Pilgrims had two major complaints about their experience in Holland and why they decided to come to America: (1) they found it a hard place to raise their children and (2) an even harder place to make a living. Their hardships in Holland were so ordinary. They worried about their children’s future. They feared the effects of a corrupt and permissive culture. They had a hard time making ends meet. They wondered how they would provide for themselves in old age.”

As an Indian Christian in North America you may have the same concerns the Pilgrims had - for your children, for your livelihood, and for your future. We will gather in New England right after commemorating the birth of a nation that the Pilgrims helped establish. In New England we have a reminder to look back at the Pilgrims’ past so to look forward to our own hope filled future. We have an opportunity to “spur one another” past our shared material concerns to achieve the spiritual goals the Pilgrims aspired for - to seek first the kingdom of God and to build the Church of God. We have an opportunity to not only strengthen and encourage one another but to also get equipped to make a difference in North America. We will worship, fellowship, and, most importantly, receive fresh inspiration and vision. We have an opportunity to make known the story of Indian Christians, to leverage the professional and material capabilities we have been blessed with, and to build our community for the glory of God!

We look forward to seeing you on July 5, 2018 at the 36th PCNAK conference!
